1969 Jaguar E-type Coupe Series 2 With a 4.2-liter Engine and a Four-Speed Manual

Production records show that the Series 2 sold a total of 18,448 cars in two years, compared with 35,854 Series 1 E-types in seven years'or 9,224 per year compared with 5,122 per year for the Series 1, underscoring the Series 2's popularity when new. This 1969 Jaguar E-type Coupe has been owned for 30 years and was showing 73,223 miles at the time of submission. - this Series 2 example in very good condition throughout, driven regularly, upgraded, restored and maintained in good working order. - the 4.2-liter twin-cam engine was rebuilt with a new block and head only 4,000 miles ago. Three Weber carburetors earlier replaced the original SU carbs, providing ongoing performance more in line with earlier pre-emission E-types in the seller's words. The car was resprayed about 15 years ago and the interior has been mostly restored. Jaguar's 4.2-liter XK DOHC inline-six engine featured a cast-iron block, aluminum-alloy cylinder head, 9:1 compression and two SU carburetors for the U.S. The engine was rated at 246 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 263 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm when new. - the engine was recently completely rebuilt with a new short block and head and continues to utilize the three-carb intake and the Weber carburetors that provide increased performance.
