 Description
Owning a red 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS offers myriad benefits in its own right, but this one has also been upgraded in several areas for improved performance, appearance, and drivability. It was the subject of a subframe-off restoration back in 2011, and it's currently fitted with a modified small-block V8, a Tremec five-speed overdrive transmission, and a 12-bolt Positraction rear axle with 4.11:1 gears.  The body data plate identifies this pony car is an RS (code 3L), an SS 350 (code 4P), and as having a four-speed with a console per code-2GL. Its seller bought it in 2019 and maintains that the vehicle has no issues, and he's selling it only because he has bad knees, which makes it difficult for him to get in and out of it. Under the hood, the four-bolt-main 350-cu.in. OHV V8 has been equipped with a high-performance camshaft, headers, an aluminum intake manifold painted engine color, an Edelbrock AVS 2 carburetor, and an aftermarket electronic ignition system. Details regarding internal parts were not available. - the engine is not original to the car, and it has less than 4,000 miles on it since its overhaul. He also notes that the mileage on the car is over 100,000. On cold start, Pump pedal twice and turn the key, he instructs. It runs on fast idle until you tap the accelerator. - no smoke on start up or at any time, and no engine leaks at all. A Tremec 3550 five-speed kit that included the new transmission, bellhousing, clutch, driveshaft, and crossmember, etc. was installed last year. - , It shifts perfectly, and the original Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission, crossmember, driveshaft, and a Hurst shifter also go with the sale. Though originally painted code Y Butternut Yellow, the Camaro is now red. It was refinished 12 years ago, the seller informs, and its condition rates a 9-of-10. The body is very solid, with no rust or dents, but the paint has a few minor chips on the corner of the hood. Its glass is good, the seals are new with no leaks, and the lights work as they should. A code-760 black standard bucket-seat interior was factory installed, but the cabin has since been upgraded to items included in the optional Custom Interior. Those new black vinyl seat covers and molded-armrest door panels were installed in 2011, as were the carpet and headliner. Still functioning are the dash gauges, the Special Instrumentation on the console, and the heater/defroster. The AM radio doesn't work, nor does the clock, but a new clock comes with the car. - Last year, new rear leaf springs and bushings were installed, as were new front and rear shocks, the seller reveals, and they remain perfect. A new power front disc brake kit was swapped in at the same time, and it provides a great pedal, and works properly. The aftermarket aluminum wheels are in great shape and produce no vibrations, and the tires are said to be four years old, though DOT date codes are not visible in the images provided to confirm this. When the Camaro is tracking straight on the road, the steering wheel is straight. There's no play in the manual steering system, and the car rides great. A list of items purchased for the restoration and a list of parts I installed are included in the sale. This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS wears a stop-you-in-your-tracks color and its performance and drivability mods are sure to thrill its new owner.
