 Description
This low-mileage, low-serial-number 2003 Ford Thunderbird was displayed at the 2003 SEMA show and received a Ford Design Award. - Doug DeBerti of DeBerti Designs modified the T-Bird, which has less than 11,200 miles on the odometer 20 years later. - the car has no mechanical issues, has always been garaged, and everything works. The 3.9-liter OHV V8 was rated by Ford at 280 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque when new. This engine was based on a Jaguar V8, as Jaguar was part of Ford when this 11th-generation Thunderbird was produced. The engine has sequential port fuel injection that aids in quick cold starts that have no smoke or leaks, who notes that a K&N cold air intake system and a Borla cat-back exhaust system were added to the engine. The five-speed automatic transmission shifts -as it should,- in the seller's opinion.- The custom tangerine pearl paint with ghost flames was applied in 2003, who notes some paint chips on the front air dam. Some customizing was done before the car was painted, including removing the side marker lamps and the fog lights, filling the portholes on the removable hardtop, and adding a custom aluminum grille. The power convertible top works perfectly, who adds that all the glass is excellent, with good seals that don't leak. The car has no rust, and all the lights work.- a piece of plastic trim at the front of the removable hardtop is damaged, but he thinks it could probably be repaired by gluing - The bucket seat interior features custom leather upholstery in black, gray, and red from Classic Soft Trim. There is brushed aluminum trim on the dashboard and door panels. A Pioneer touchscreen double-DIN stereo is Bluetooth capable and connected to a backup camera, who reports that both the air conditioning and heater work. The carpet is said to be in excellent condition and all the gauges work, as do the power windows and locks. - This Thunderbird uses H&R lowering springs for more of a hot-rod stance.- the SEMA show springs were too low, so the current ones were installed two years ago. - the bushings, shocks, and brakes are all in good condition with no issues. The 20-inch alloy wheels are from Colorado Custom Wheels and the tires are -brand new- Bridgestones that cost $2,000. DOT date codes, to confirm tire age, are not visible in the images provided. This one-of-a-kind 2003 Ford Thunderbird Convertible has an interesting back story with its appearance at the 2003 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
