1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe

The seller of this Regal Turquoise and India Ivory 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe discovered and purchased it while exploring the back roads of Maine in 1998. The car was the recipient of an older restoration that appears to have held up well because, it was only driven in nice summer weather and always garaged.- it has never been in rain during his ownership. In 2017, he made upgrades to the fuel system, brakes, shocks, and tires. He states that this '55 Bel Air is a nice driving car and believes the 79,374 miles shown on the odometer to be original.- the 265-cu.in. OHV V8, which Chevrolet rated at 162 horsepower when new, is original to the car. The fuel system was restored and updated in 2017 with a rebuilt two-barrel carburetor and a new gas tank, fuel pump, fuel lines, and filler neck. The original single exhaust system was replaced with a dual exhaust sometime prior to the seller purchasing the car. The exhaust system is showing signs of age.- his cold start ritual is to pump the throttle and crank the ignition for five seconds, wait 10 seconds, repeat one more time, and the car starts, idles well, and doesn't smoke. - that the Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission shifts well but there is a weep where the speedometer cable enters the transmission. The carpet is in good condition except for one small stain and the headliner is very good, with a working dome light.
