Description
The seller of this 1968 Chevrolet Nova received the car after her father passed away five years ago. It has been modified inside and out, with its drivetrain including a 355-cubic-inch small-block V8 engine, a Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 automatic transmission, and a 4.11-geared and Positraction-equipped 10-bolt rear end. The exterior was also restored and the interior features leather-trimmed seats, a custom instrument panel and more. It's a powerful hot rod, who adds this Chevy II street machine has also been entered in numerous car shows.Under the hood is a 355-cu.in. OHV V8 that reportedly was built with a solid-lifter camshaft, iron heads with 2.02/1.60-inch valves, flat-top pistons, roller-tip rocker arms, a 670-cfm carburetor, and an MSD ignition system. There are also long-tube headers that flow into a custom dual-exhaust system. The radiator is fitted with an electric fan. Backing the engine is a three-speed automatic transmission.- the engine starts and runs well, with no reported smoke, while the transmission is said to shift smoothly. The only noted powertrain leaks or weeping comes from the base of the carburetor. The gasket should be inspected and possibly replaced. This Nova wears dark green paint that is in great condition. Its age is unknown and so is the bodywork history, but the seller notes there are no known rust issues in the body. The finish shows a bit of orange peel, but no significant blemishes are seen in the photos. The side-window trim was painted black, and the original hood was replaced with a cowl-induction hood. The chrome and other exterior trim appear in very good condition and there are no scratches or cracks in the glass. All the seals are said to be in good condition and all the exterior lights are functional. Additionally, the seller notes that while the windshield wipers are in place, the wiper motor has been removed. It also appears the firewall has been modified in the area where the wiper motor would be mounted - The black interior of this Nova was also revamped and features late-model, leather-trimmed front bucket seats, a B&M floor shifter, an aftermarket steering wheel and a carbon fiber-style instrument panel insert that's filled with AutoMeter gauges. Everything from the seat covers and carpet to the door panels, headliner, and dash pad are said to be in very good condition, with little apparent wear. The seats are in great shape. The speedometer does not work properly, notes the seller, but there are no known issues with the rest of the instruments. The heater and radio have been deleted. - - there are no known issues with the chassis, suspension, and braking systems, which include manual steering and manual brakes. Modifications to them are unknown, but the photos appear to show the rear suspension has traction bars, while the front brakes appear to be discs. The car also rolls on BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires mounted on American Racing 17-inch polished aluminum wheels. All are said to be in good condition, with no curb rash on the wheels. The tires appear to show 2011 DOT date codes. It's a modified 1968 Chevrolet Nova that belonged to the seller's father. Its small-block engine is said to make it a powerful hot rod and there are no reported mechanical or drivability issues with this compact and lightweight Chevy II. I simply don't have the time it needs any longer.
