This 1967 Shelby GT350 was only 11 years old when the seller purchased it in June 1978, but it had already gone a few rounds at the body shop. The previous owner told it had been rear-ended and completely repainted and a short time later, the front was hit and the car was completely repainted again. In 1979, he began a restoration and the Shelby was painted in July 1981. The original 289 engine was also rebuilt 's father. Throughout the eighties the car made the show circuit and picked up a number of awards, but it has been driven minimally over the years. I have done minimal work to it since the restoration was completed and have added only about 15,000 miles to the car since I bought it in 1978.- The car is said to be in good overall condition, but shows wear and aging.When new, the 289-cu.in. V8 was rated at 306 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque.During the rebuild, the engine block was overbored 0.010-inch.The engine is paired with an automatic transmission.The powertrain was removed and detailed in approximately 1987.- the carburetor likely needs tuning and the lifters may need adjustment.The British Racing Green paintwork dates to 1981 and the stripes were added in 1982.The finish is said to be good, but shows some rock chip and other small blemishes.From the factory, the car was equipped with a Deluxe black vinyl interior.During the restoration, the carpet was replaced, along with a seat cover.1967 Shelby-specific gauges were added to the bottom of the instrument panel.A cassette radio was added, but the original radio is included.Some interior restoration is currently needed, including the door panels and additional trim.The brakes were replaced in 2023.Older Goodyear Eagle ST tires are mounted on Shelby 10-spoke wheels.
