1979 Pontiac Trans AmThis 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is powered by a 403ci V8, three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, and a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo power-assisted steering, snowflake-style 15″ wheels finished in silver with gold accents with Firebird-logo center caps as well as 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. Stopping power is provided by all wheel disc brakes.I acquired the car in 2019 as the 3rd owner. Under my ownership, I have replaced the headliner, grille, and driver's side door handle. I have the owner’s manual, T-Top storage bags, and a clean title in my name. The front bucket seats and two-passenger rear bench are upholstered in Camel cloth. The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and fronts a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and supplementary gauges. The 403ci L80 V8 came equipped from the factory with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 185 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. The battery was replaced and an oil change was completed in September 2022. The undercarriage is very clean with a bit of surface rust on the exhaust pipes. Cosmoline can be seen on many components, the areas in between show clean and rust free the floor panels and fuel tank. Paint imperfections are shown in photos. There is a crack on the air cleaner housing. This is a very clean very well running survivor, with just the right amount of patina. I hope the next owner enjoys it as much as I have.
