 Description
This restored and modified 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Club Coupe has many body mods that are cloaked in an eye-catching hue that the seller calls Wineberry. The custom interior was done in contrasting cream leather. The engine is a highly detailed Ford flathead that's backed by a -three on the tree- manual overdrive transmission.- that the car gets lots of attention and -everyone loves it wherever I take it.- - besides looking great, the car drives great.  The 239-cu.in. L-head V8 is correct for this year Ford, but the seller doesn't know if it's the original engine. When it was modified and its rebuild history are also unknowns. The engine and engine compartment are highly detailed, and the provided photos show finned aluminum cylinder heads and a polished-aluminum twin-carb intake manifold. The polished alternator is a modern 12-volt unit and it's mounted next to a modern air conditioning compressor. An electric fuel pump helps cold starts, which take a few minutes to warm up without any smoke or leaks. The three-speed overdrive manual transmission got a new clutch in 2021 and the transmission shifts great with no odd noises. The seller thinks the Wineberry paint was applied around 1998, when the car was built. - the condition is great, except for one small blemish on the driver's door that he thinks can be buffed out. This mild custom has many modifications shown in the provided photos, including a shaved and peaked hood with rounded corners and eight rows of louvers, a Corvette grille bar with extra teeth, a shaved front bumper, Frenched headlights, a shaved trunk lid, radically altered rear quarters that eliminated the signature horizontal original taillights, a smoothed rear bumper with recessed taillights, -bubble- fender skirts, side pipes, shaved door handles, dummy Appleton spotlights, a Frenched antenna, and traditional pinstriping. The car has no rust that's known , who adds that the seals look new and he thinks they don't leak but he has never had the car in the rain. The glass is all great and lights all work - While the exterior modifications are pretty traditional, the interior has a more modern flair with sculpted door panels and a sculpted headliner made out of cloth and leather with a roof-mounted Bluetooth stereo. There is a center console and the dashboard was painted to match the upholstery. The car has power windows and locks. The seller rates the carpet condition as -new- front and back, although there is a wear spot on the driver's floormat. The gauges work, except the clock. An auxiliary gauge panel houses VDO gauges. Both the heater and air conditioner work. - The car has rear air bags, and the bushings were replaced in 2021, who also had some brake work done in 2021, including a new wheel cylinder. New kingpins, a new tie rod end, and new front wheel bearings were installed in 2021.- a little steering play, although the steering points straight and drives straight. He doesn't know the age of the P205/75R15 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial wide-whitewall tires since they were on the car when he got it. DOT date codes for the tires are not visible in the images provided. This 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Club Coupe was originally built for show and has won awards during the three years that the seller has owned it.
