The new-for-1964 Chevelle Malibu was Chevrolet's midsize entry that was styled to resemble the full-size Impala. The car spent the next 3½ years getting new floorpans and new quarters, along with a slow-to-be-completed paint job.- the car runs great. The engine is a 283-cu.in. small-block Chevy V8 that the seller believes to be original to the car. He doesn't think it has been rebuilt, and states that it runs very well. Cold starts require a single pump of the gas pedal and turn of the key. - a small amount of smoke at startup, but no leaks, and states that the two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission shifts very well. The Tuxedo Black paint was applied in 2021. There are some imperfections illustrated in the provided photos. The seller calls the paint quality very good, although it could use a good buffing. A screw dented the hood and cracked the paint and there is some chipped paint on the lower door edge- the doors need some adjustment. There is no current rust but the floorpans, trunk pan, and inner/outer quarter panels were replaced before the car was painted. The windshield is new, but the side windows are good-condition originals. All the weather stripping is new. The side windows could use some adjustment in the seller's opinion. The lights work except for the backup and dash lights. - The black vinyl bucket seats are of excellent quality, except for a crack in the driver's seat. All the adjustments work . The carpet is said to be new, and the heater works. The headliner is very good without sagging and the dome light works . There is no missing interior trim. The back door panels are new, and the front ones are described as in good condition. The fuel gauge needs to be hooked up and the antenna needs to be installed. The radio and speaker are new, with modern capabilities . - New leaf and coil springs, along with new shock absorbers, bushings, and brakes were installed during the car's restoration. The car has manual steering, but it points straight and has no play. The BFGoodrich Touring T/A tires are essentially new, although they spent several years in the bodyshop.
