 Description
Offered for sale at no reserve, this 1926 Ford Model T was modified into a parade truck for a local insurance company. Much of the updates apparently date to a restoration that was completed around 2005 in Massachusetts. With a wooden body and some added brass trim, the Model T is reported to retain its original engine, to be free of rust, and to have been used in parades. - the vehicle has been in the same family for 40 years. The Model T was powered by Ford's 177-cu.in. L-head inline four-cylinder engine. With a compression ratio of 3.98:1 and a single downdraft carburetor, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 20 horsepower when new. The owner believes that the engine in this Model T is original to the vehicle, and to have covered about 500 miles since the restoration. The engine is fitted with an electric starter and is paired with a Ford planetary gear-type two-speed manual transmission. No powertrain issues are noted, and only minor leaks near the wheels are reported. The engine bay appears to be acceptably clean, in the provided photos. The paint and wooden bodywork are said to be in overall excellent condition, with reported blemishes limited to two dings above one rear wheel,- the Model T has always been garaged, when not in use, since being restored and is free of rust. The radiator shell and headlamp rims appear to have brushed-on brass finishes, per the photos. The wooden body appears to show no damage, and the cargo bed appears to be in excellent, undamaged condition. The low-beam headlamps and taillamps are reported to work properly, and that the fold-down windshield is in excellent shape. The underside presents as being generally clean, in the photos - The bench seat has a vinyl-covered cushion that is reported to be in good condition and the wooden floorboards appear to be solid and are protected by a rubber mat. The sole instrument, an ammeter, is reported to be functional. - The date of the Model T's most recent chassis work is unknown, and that no suspension work has been necessary. Both the service and emergency brakes are said to be in proper working order. The wooden wheels are reported to be in good condition and are mounted with tires with an estimated 75-percent tread life remaining. Offered at no reserve, this 1926 Ford Model T pickup presents handsomely as a parade veteran.
