Description
The 1953-1956 Ford F-100 series half-ton pickups are cornerstones of the custom truck hobby. These handsome pickups were modified from the beginning and countless show trucks have been based on them. Their spacious engine bays offer ample room for a variety of engines. The aftermarket restoration and custom parts industries seemingly make building and maintaining them painless.
According to its seller, this modified 1955 Ford F-100 half-ton pickup retains its factory styling, but with a lower stance and a custom paint job. The interior has been wrapped in leather upholstery and motivation now comes from a powerful 429-cu.in. Ford big-block backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. POWERPLANT The engine in this F-100 is a 429-cu.in. Ford big-block V-8, and it features an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, cast-iron exhaust manifolds, Ford Motorsport valve covers, an aftermarket aluminum radiator, and dual electric fans.- the engine starts easily, idles nicely, and doesn't smoke. The transmission is a C6 three-speed automatic with a 2,500-rpm stall speed torque converter that shifts fine. The seller rates the paint condition as a 7 out of 10, with no swirls, but a few small dings, chips, and scratches noted. There is a small rust spot on the lower right front fender, but no other rust issues that he knows. There is a small chip in the upper passenger's-side corner of the windshield. The side windows are tinted. The bumpers have been painted body color -- the entire interior has been upgraded, which includes two-tone brown and tan leather upholstery on the bucket seats. A custom center console has a big armrest, switches for the power windows, and the transmission shifter. The tilt steering column was painted body color and fitted with a Grant GT wood-rimmed steering wheel.- there are no cracks or tears in the leather and the brown carpet is in excellent condition. The custom headliner has a small sag. The stereo has been upgraded. - The rear suspension is mounted with a four-link system and coilover shocks. The gear ratio of the 9-inch Ford rear end is unknown . The suspension service history is also unknown, but the seller describes the bushings and shocks as excellent. - the front disc brakes have no issues and there is no play in the steering. The BFGoodrich tires are nine years old, but they are like brand-new. This 1955 Ford F-100 half-ton pickup is a multiple show winner and gets lots of compliments, but he doesn't drive it as much as he should, so it's time for its next owner.
