 Description
First generation Camaros (1967-1969) all shared the same basic body shell, but the 1969 model had significant enough differences to essentially make it a one-year-only version. Couple that with the huge success (sales and performance) of the '69 Camaro and you've got one of the most iconic American cars ever made. Engine choices varied, but regardless of what was under the hood all '69 Camaros shared the same sharp styling. This LeMans Blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe has less than 10,000 on its odometer, a number believed to be accurate. The car has reportedly been in storage for most of its life. The 307-cubic inch V-8 and Turbo HydraMatic 350 transmission are the original factory equipment. The Camaro comes with extensive documentation including the Protect-O-Plate, and some paperwork supporting the claim of limited mileage. - The original L14 307-cubic inch V-8 was equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and factory rated at 200 horsepower. Approximately 68,000 Camaros were built with this engine. - cold starting involves pumping the gas a few times and turning the key. Normal idle is achieved after about a minute with no smoke. There is some exhaust noise on the right side due to a worn donut gasket.- there isn't any weeping or leaking from either the engine or the differential, but admits to minor weeping from the transmission. - the Turbo HydraMatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission shifts as expected. LeMans Blue is a timeless Camaro color and it shows well in the photos. The paint is reported to be all original with the exception of a few touchup areas and minor rust spots that are depicted in the photos. An example is the lower right corner of the rear window (a very common problem area on first-gen Camaros, especially vinyl roof cars). Dry trunk photos are reassuring. Glass and windows condition/operation are described as new . The seller claims to not have driven the car in the rain, but feels that there aren't any seal or weatherstripping problems. - Blue vinyl bucket seats match the exterior. - the upholstery and carpet as new. No trim items are missing, but the rear package tray is sun faded. A new reproduction panel is included with the car. This Camaro was a factory radio delete car. The gauges work with the exception of the gas gauge, which the seller admits can be intermittent. The photos show a minor bit of warpage with the vinyl above the glovebox. - Original and untouched is how the seller describes the chassis and suspension. - there are no visible defects that he has seen. The power steering works well and the car points straight and drives like a new car, . BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires and 14-inch Rally wheels were installed in 1989. They have approximately 500 miles on them. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe was originally sold in Florida and used sparingly until 1989 when a dealer in Pennsylvania bought it. A lottery-winning grandmother gave it to her grandson, whose rough treatment left it in a parking lot with a damaged rear end. The seller tracked down the owner and after multiple attempts bought the car in 1989. He registered the Camaro as an antique vehicle and, with the exception of occasional car shows and limited outings, has kept the car stored inside ever since. The Camaro comes with detailed documentation as well as the original rims and hubcaps.
