1969 Chevrolet Camaro From Long-Term Ownership - Z/28 Tribute

Built as a visual tribute to the Z/28, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro has been owned for 26 years. Its mileage is unknown.Modifications include a Holley Avenger carburetor with an electric choke, aluminum intake manifold with a Winters logo, a Pertronix Ignitor II electronic ignition, new header collector reducers to the head-pipes and new mufflers. A new starter and fuel pump were also bolted in.The gas tank was removed, flushed clean, and a new fuel sending unit was installed.After a couple of pumps on the accelerator pedal, turn the key, and the engine starts and fast idles at 1,600 rpm. After it warms up, I punch the pedal to kick off the fast idle, and it comes down to 1,000 rpm.A new flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate are ahead of the professionally rebuilt Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission.A Hurst shifter was also installed, and the seller notes, With no more than 100 miles on everything, the transmission is still pretty tight going through the gears.Inside the rebuilt 12-bolt Positraction rear axle is a Richmond 3.73:1 gearset.A new speedometer cable was installed and calibrated during the transmission rebuild.The solid body has no rust repairs or filler.A cowl induction-style hood, Z/28 stripes and badges, and 302 emblems were added.Originally code-52 Garnet Red, the repaint color is a bit lighter and metallic is in it. It was applied before he purchased the car, the overall quality is good.The glass and seals are good all-around with no leaks.Except for the backup-lights, the exterior lighting functions.In the code-727 Ivory standard bucket seat interior, the mechanical operation is good for each seat and there are no tears in the aged white vinyl, . The carpet and headliner are in good condition.The Mallory tachometer, and aftermarket oil pressure and water temperature gauges, and voltmeter all work accurately, , as does the dome light and heater. An optional three-spoke steering wheel is present.In 2022, the entire power front disc/rear drum and parking brake system was replaced, except for the rotors and pads because they were in great shape, . The pedal feels good, the tires can be locked up if necessary, and the parking brake functions perfectly.New leaf springs, polyurethane bushings, and rear shocks were installed at the same time.Normal wear and tear for their age is present on the trim rings and center caps, and the 15-inch steel Rally wheels are in good shape.The manual steering system, is straight ahead and tight. COMES WITH New bearings are included in the sale to fix the quarter windows.Numerous manuals and a car cover come with the Camaro, as well.Original date-coded brake parts, a Z/28 Holley carburetor, and period-correct AM/FM radio will also go with the sale.-This engine runs a little rich, so there may be some smoke during warm up, the seller discloses.There's a little weeping around the front crank seal.No antenna is installed, so the AM radio's condition is unknown.The paint is showing age with some small bubbles in the surface, chips, crazing, road dings, and minimal scratches.The rear quarter windows do not roll all the way down.Since this car has headers, the backup light switch rod from the transmission linkage to the steering column had to be removed, he explains.
