 Vehicle Description
This 1974 Triumph TR6 is being presented in very good condition. He goes on to say it was restored approximately 10 years ago. It's an award winner that's never been raced, he notes. The odometer presently shows 90,632 miles.   Triumph enlisted Karmann in Germany to help style the slab-sided, solid, and handsome TR6 Convertible while the oily bits remained pure Triumph, with a silken six providing the power and fully independent suspension to keep the wheels planted. The model debuted in 1968, for the 1969 model year, and remained in production until 1976. The TR6 would be the final six-cylinder Triumph sports car.A 2.5-liter OHV inline-six powers the car. The Triumph six has a cast-iron cylinder block and head. It breathes through a pair of Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and, when new, it was rated at 101 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque in emissions-compliant US trim. This Triumph's engine is said to have been rebuilt just before the present owner bought the vehicle.- the engine starts readily from cold so long as you pull out [the] manual choke. A four-speed manual transmission with overdrive backs the engine and sends power to the rear wheels. The transmission shifts very well; overdrive works, . He mentions that the clutch slave cylinder shows some weeping.         Photos indicate that the car is finished in Carmine Red, which corresponds with color code 82 stamped on its build plate. - the Triumph was repainted about 10 years ago, but today, the car exhibits very minor chips and some dulling by the gas cap. He adds, there is no visible rust. In photos, the car's paintwork appears glossy and well-applied and there is no evidence of exterior corrosion. Bumpers, badging, brightwork, and the Union Jack decals on the rear quarter panels appear to be in good condition in the provided photos. All the glass is in very good condition, . The exterior lighting systems are described as functioning, while weather seals are described as good. There's no problem with the rubber. The convertible top, boot, and cockpit cover [are in] new condition. Photos appear to show that the black convertible top fits snuggly and that the vinyl windows are clear - - the car's black vinyl seat upholstery is in very good condition overall, but there's a small hole on the right side of the driver's seat. Photos seem to confirm the seller's of the interior. The coordinating black carpet is described as in very good condition. The walnut dashboard appears to be glossy and free from crazing or yellowing in photos. The gauges and heater are said to work, as do the manual door locks and windows.          - Triumph gave the perimeter-frame TR6 independent suspension at every corner. - this car's suspension as unmodified, with good bushings and shock absorbers, while the vacuum-boosted front disc and rear drum brakes work fine, as they should. The manual rack-and-pinion steering system is described as free of undue play. Underbody photos do not appear to show any evidence of corrosion on chassis components or panels. The car appears to have a set of factory-style 15-inch steel wheels with chrome trim rings. Photos seem to show that the wheels are in good physical condition. The wheels appear to be fitted with 205/70R15 Cooper Trendsetter SE tires. DOT date codes, to determine tire age, are not visible in the photos provided. This award-winning 1974 Triumph TR6 Convertible is finished in an eye-catching color and has the added practicality of overdrive.
