 Vehicle Description
Only 13 percent of the 1965 Mustang's nearly 560,000-unit production run for the inaugural year included the fastback body style with 2 seating. This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback makes a strong case for the racy profile, in Bright White with light gray racing stripes and chrome Magnum 500-style wheels. - who oversaw the car's restoration, it is rust-free and -powered by its original C-code 289 V8,- but has a few upgrades including a four-barrel carburetor, heavy-duty leaf springs, and more. Everything been addressed. The VIN identifies this Mustang as an original C-code car, and the seller asserts it's the original 289-cu.in. OHV V8 under the hood but engine stamping photos to document this are not provided. The engine has reportedly been upgraded with a Holley 650-cfm Double-Pumper carburetor, high-rise intake manifold, and exhaust headers. It starts and runs great, who notes there's no smoke or leaks from the engine, which is matched with a reportedly rebuilt Toploader four-speed manual transmission. There are no noted performance issues or leaks with it.    The Bright White finish on this Mustang was applied four years ago, and is described in better than new condition, with no reported blemishes or swirl marks. It's a color change from the original Raven Black, according to the car's data plate. It also wears gray painted stripes that were sealed with clearcoat. Additionally, the seller asserts the body is rust-free and all the exterior chrome and trim elements appear in very good condition. The glass and seals are also said to be in good shape and there are no reported issues with the exterior lights - This Mustang's cockpit is a mix of black and white, with white vinyl-trimmed seats that were reportedly redone during the restoration. They're said to be in great shape, with little apparent wear. They contrast with a black carpet, black door panels, and a black headliner ' all of which are said to be in good shape. The same goes for the black dash pad. All the gauges are reportedly in working order, along with the heater and an older aftermarket cassette stereo system. There's also a Grant wood-rimmed steering wheel that appears in very good condition. - The chassis, suspension, and braking elements are said to be in good working order, with upgrades that include a 3/4-inch-diameter front stabilizer bar, heavy-duty and lowering leaf springs, and a Monte Carlo bar mounted between the shock towers. The car also has manual steering and manual brakes, which are said to work well, but the emergency brake reportedly needs attention. Additionally, this Mustang drives on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on 14-inch chrome wheels. All are said to be in very good condition, with no blemishes or curb rash on the wheels. They're perfect, who adds the tires show lots of tread. The age of the tires is not specified, and DOT date codes are not discernable in the photos. Additional documentation for this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback includes receipts from the restoration. Hindsight is truly 20/20. Customers didn't immediately flock to the Mustang fastback nearly 60 years ago, but that apathy created one of the most desirable classics of the era. This reportedly rust-free example appears in very good condition. It runs strong, adds the seller.
