1950 De Soto Custom Club Coupe Restomod With a Mopar 318 V8

One of 6,100 Club Coupes produced that year, and finished to an obviously high standard, this 1950 De Soto Custom Club Coupe looks like a restored car, but it's more than that. This De Soto is reported to be the result of a 10-year old body-off restoration, performed by a De Soto expert, that resulted in its transformation into a discreet restomod. The De Soto now boasts a modern Chrysler-sourced V8 powertrain and a fully redone interior that features functional air conditioning, an upgraded audio system and power-adjustable leather seating. The car is further modified with power steering and brakes, plus power windows and door locks. No rust is noted. -   that this De Soto is now powered by a carbureted Mopar 318-cu.in. OHV V8 of undisclosed vintage. When introduced in 1968, the original 318 featured a compression ratio of 9.2:1 and received its fuel mixture via a single two-barrel carburetor and was rated by the manufacturer at 230 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque. This De Soto's engine reportedly idles well, with no smoke.- the three-speed automatic transmission shifts well. A slight leak under the oil pan is observed. The engine bay presents as clean. The Champagne finish is said to date to 2001, with the seller reporting no swirls and a few chips, noting that the De Soto has been stored in a heated building. The body seals were reportedly replaced during the restoration. - no rust exists on the car.
