1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Convertible Coupe

GM's prestige division produced the Torpedo styled 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Convertible Coupe for discerning buyers who desired upscale appointments to accompany wind-in-their-hair driving.  The seller explains that he purchased this example from the previous owner/friend in 2021 who had partially restored it, but then became ill, so he decided to sell it to me, and I finished it. This car has been driven 864 miles since completion and displayed at some local events. All cosmetic and mechanical details have been addressed, and it runs and drives great. The 150-horsepower, 346-cu.in. L-head V8 is believed to be original to the car, but the serial number couldn't be located on the engine block for confirmation. It was rebuilt during the restoration and is smooth and powerful, he adds. The electrical system has been upgraded to 12-volt operation and fitted with an alternator. A new gas tank, fuel sending unit, and updated water pump were also installed.  Depress the accelerator pedal to set the automatic choke, turn the key, and the car starts immediately. It does not smoke or leak. The three-speed manual transmission, shifts smoothly and quietly, but there are very slight weeps below it and the [3.77:1-geared] differential. Factory painted in Rivermist Gray (upper) and Dusty Gray (lower), per code-60 on the body data plate, the Cadillac was refinished in white three years ago. Its quality is excellent with no rust, swirls, or blemishes, the seller notes. The exterior brightwork was also restored, but the headlight bezels show some very light pitting.  The new black convertible top doesn't leak, but its power mechanism has been removed, so it must be raised and lowered manually. There are no issues with the glass or seals, all of the exterior lights work, and the windshield wipers were upgraded to electric actuation. The deck lid latches but doesn't lock - Originally code-87A beige and red leather upholstery, the seller had the front seat and door panels recovered in red vinyl. The rear seat pattern differs from stock, there's slight wear on the carpet, and the trim is complete. To ensure accuracy, the gauge cluster was restored by Instrument Specialties, Inc. The heater functions, and the previously removed 6-volt radio comes with the car. - A four-wheel alignment was performed recently, so the steering wheel is straight when the car is traveling straight, and the shock absorbers were rebuilt, the seller reports. There are no cracked or damaged bushings, nor are there any concerns with the four-wheel drum brakes, which had their master cylinder sleeved and rebuilt, and retain a firm pedal.  No defects of any kind are found in the new, aftermarket 15-inch chromed wire wheels. There are no vibrations at highway speeds, and the 8.20-15 wide-whitewall tires are new and have less than 1,000 miles on them. No play or vagueness are felt in the wheel, as the steering gear was rebuilt, as well. DOT date codes, showing when the tires were produced, are not visible in the images provided.
