 Vehicle Description
From the last update of Squarebody Blazer production, this 1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado features a 350-cu.in. V-8, cold air conditioning, new paint in its factory primary color, original upholstery, and recent BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. - For 1990, the 350-cu.in. V-8 was the base ' and only ' gas-powered engine available for the Blazer. The truck was equipped with a towing package, which includes a transmission cooler. The engine bay photos show no significant modifications, and highlight the original air cleaner and snorkel, and valve covers. The engine bay appears to be tidy with only some paint flaking on the intake manifold taking away from the original look.- that the electronically fuel-injected engine starts immediately and is coupled to a Turbo Hydra-Matic 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, and a New Process 241 two-speed transfer case with automatic locking hubs. The notes indicate that both the transfer case and the transmission shift without issue. For a vehicle that was in its last two model years, the 1990 Blazer received a lot of improvements, especially to the body, which made them a lot more resistant to rust. Since the Squarebody arrived, it used single-wall sheetmetal throughout, but the 1990 V Blazer body was updated with double-wall, galvanized sheetmetal. Even more important for this particular example, is it has spent its entire life avoiding rust on the West Coast. Per the provided photos, the body appears to be clean and free of any rust in the areas where these trucks were notorious for it. The truck was original Midnight Blue and Smoke Blue, but it was reportedly repainted just two months ago in the primary Midnight Blue color. - the old original paint was removed to steel surface, prepped and a basecoat/clearcoat paint completed by a professional automotive paint shop and -looks excellent-. They also mention new rubber seals all around cab, canopy, windows, doors were added during the process. The chrome and emblems all appear to be in good condition, and the seller reports that the exterior lighting is all functional. The truck has a Class III receiver hitch mounted under the bumper -- that the front and rear seats wear their original blue velour upholstery. The reclining front seats appear to be in good condition, with no damage to the stitching or bolsters visible in the photos. The upholstery matches on the door panels, and the door pulls, door tops, and armrests all appear to be undamaged. - the old original carpet was removed, sound deadener added, and carpet replaced. It appears to be in excellent condition.- that the floormats are original to the truck. The dash was replaced ' not covered, replaced with new. The pad appears to be in excellent condition. The instrument panel has the full array of gauges, and the seller reports that they all operate as intended. Seller noted that the electronic speedometer has been recently repaired and works as intended. The truck's air conditioning was updated to R134a, according to the previous owner, and the seller mentions that it blows cold. The audio system has been replaced with a Pioneer DEH-S4120BT AM/FM/CD player with an aux-in jack and Bluetooth functionality. The fully carpeted cargo area appears to have no damage, and retains the original rack to mount a full-sized spare. The truck has power windows and power locks, and a power rear window. - There are only a few photos of the undercarriage, but they show a truck that appears to have avoided any underside corrosion. The underbody, frame, crossmembers, and suspension components all appear to be in excellent condition. The truck has standard power steering, which has no leaks . The suspension has been updated with coilover shocks in the rear. The springs appear to have no rust between the leaves, and the truck was equipped with optional heavy-duty springs and quad 25-mm shocks up front. The shocks all appear to be in excellent condition. For 1990, all Blazers were equipped with power front disc brakes with rear antilock drums.- that the brakes squeak a bit, but stop the truck well. Originally, the truck was equipped with the N90 cast-aluminum wheels, which are available, but he opted for the steel GM Truck Rally wheels, with trim rings and center caps. The wheels are equipped with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02s, sized 33x10.5x15, which the seller notes only have about 2,000 miles. Additional paperwork includes a Carfax vehicle report showing the ownership and mileage history, documenting its West Coast heritage. I will also include the original window sticker, original key chains, and maintenance logbooks. Late Blazers may have had the look of the early K5s, but they had some significant improvements. This 1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Silverado appears to be very clean, and has received some nice updates in the past few years.
