Vehicle Description
This 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible underwent a meticulous and transformative restoration from 2019 to 2023 and has just recently has been driven its first 54 miles, . His mother purchased the pony car upon its completion. Per the C in the VIN, this convertible was factory assembled with the two-barrel, 200-horsepower, 289-cu.in. OHV V8. Whether the current 289 two-barrel engine is original to the car is not known. Nevertheless, it was rebuilt and has traveled just 54 miles since, . -It still has the break in oil in it,- he notes. On the paperwork the seller received, the block was bored 0.030-inch over, and new main and rod bearings, pistons and rings, timing kit, camshaft and lifters, oil pump, gasket kit, and a valve job on the heads were listed. A new dual exhaust system and fuel tank were also installed. One pump of the gas pedal, a turn of the key, and it starts right up and idles perfectly, with no smoke or leaks. The four-speed manual transmission was rebuilt, as well, and it shifts as smooth as glass. Since the door-mounted data plate didn't come with the car, the codes that reveal which rear axle gear ratio, transmission, paint color, and interior trim it was originally built with are not available. Ford Ivy Green paint, period-correct and flawlessly applied in 2022, radiates with a deep luster, glistening under the sun's rays, . Every curve and contour of the bodywork showcases the extraordinary attention to detail and there are no blemishes, dents, scratches, or chips in the finish. The white convertible top with rear glass window is new and its new boot is still in the box. A spare rear glass window is included, as well. Also new are the chrome bumpers, trim pieces, side mirrors, emblems, badges, windshield, seals, and headlights. There are no leaks, , and the exterior lighting functions as designed - The restoration extends to every facet of the cabin, leaving no detail untouched. Its seat covers, dash pad, door panels, center console, carpet, kick panels, rear quarter panels, and even the ashtrays have been meticulously replaced, ensuring that the Mustang's interior exudes the original charm. All the instruments operate properly, and so does the heater and the original AM radio. - A new front end, steering linkage, bushings, and shocks were installed during the restoration, the seller notes. The manual drum braking system was rebuilt and the car stops on a dime. There's no drifting, and the manual steering works well. New 14-inch Magnum 500 steel wheels adorned with pony center caps were shod with 205/70R14 Tornel America Selecta radial tires. DOT date codes, to determine tire age, are not visible in the images provided. Documentation is comprehensive, with receipts validating every step of the restoration process. This 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible is more than just a car; it's a time capsule, meticulously preserved and restored to a level that is sure to captivate even the most discerning enthusiasts.
