1936 Auburn 852 Four-Door Phaeton

From the final year of actual production of this iconic luxury automobile, and designated as a Full Classic by the Classic Car Club of America, this clearly restored 1936 Auburn 852 four-door phaeton now has a non-original supercharged Lycoming engine. Described as being in excellent condition, the Auburn is reportedly a past AACA calendar car, winner of an AACA President's Award, a 2001 Senior National First Place, and to have been a cover car in Antique Automobile magazine. The Auburn presents as being in very good condition inside and out, with no obvious blemishes to the paint or interior after having undergone a total restoration at an unspecified time. The phaeton top appears to have excellent fit. Both the engine bay and underside present as very clean, with no visible surface corrosion. A non-original Lycoming 280-cu.in. L-head supercharged inline-eight is fitted.Auburn rated it at 150 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque.Lycoming was part of the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg corporate empire and supplied its engines.The sheet metal and paint display no obvious imperfections and present strongly.The leather interior surfaces appear to be in excellent, damage-free condition.The Art Deco dashboard treatment presents beautifully.The phaeton roof shows no damage and looks to have excellent fit.All brightwork, including the exhaust outlets, appear to be in very good shape.The running boards and bodywork all appear to be straight.The underside presents as very clean.Trippe driving lights are installed.
