1967 Chevrolet Camaro Pro Touring

Over the decades, the first-generation Camaro has often led the pack with car-building trends, from the street machines of the Seventies and the pro-street popularity in the Eighties and Nineties, to today's restomod/Pro Touring movement. It's always been the car. This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Pro Tourer epitomizes the popular trend, from its contemporary coilover suspension conversion and four-wheel disc brakes to the five-speed-backed 383 stroker engine. It's billed as a great driver that has approximately 1,500 miles on the completed build. - Under the hood of this restomod Camaro sites a classic 383-cu.in. small-block stroker V-8 engine combination, with aluminum heads, an aluminum intake manifold and a four-barrel carburetor. It also has headers that blow into a custom exhaust system, with an electric exhaust cutout, and an enhanced cooling system with an electric fan. It is said to start easily, with no reported smoke, but tends to be a little cold-blooded until some heat builds in the engine. It's matched with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that is said to shift well through all five gears. - this Camaro's silver paintwork is in good driver condition, with a few blemishes here and there, but no known rust in the body. The age of the paint is unknown and according to the S code on the cowl tag, the car was originally painted Sierra Fawn. The front bumper has been removed, while the rest of the exterior trim and brightwork appear in very good condition. The glass and seals are also said to be in good condition, with no reported scratches or cracks in the glass, and no known leaks with the seals. - In true Pro Touring form, this Camaro's cabin has been comprehensively upgraded, with new leather-trimmed Proocar bucket seats, a billet aluminum shifter and a full complement of Auto Meter gauges that replace all of the factory instruments in a Coven dash. There's also a Grant GT steering wheel. All of the upgraded components are said to be in good condition, along with the carpet and headliner, with no reported holes, tears or other excessive wear. There's also new wiring for the car's electrical components, as well as a power cut-off switch. And for the record, there's no heater or radio in the cabin. - - the chassis, suspension and braking systems have been comprehensively updated with modern pro-touring equipment, including QA1 coilovers at all four corners and tubular control arms. There's also a Wilwood four-wheel disc-brake system, with drilled and slotted rotors, and a reportedly leak-free power-steering system. The car is said to drive straight, without any reported vibrations, and it rolls on Billet Specialties 17-inch aluminum wheels shod with Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR tires, sized 245/45R17 in front and 285/40R17 in back and showing 2015 and 2016 date codes. The wheels appear to be in very good condition, with no apparent scuffing or road rash, while the tires appear to show very good tread depth. Additional paperwork includes receipts for much of the work on the car. This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Pro Touring is a car that largely speaks for itself: a classic first-gen F-body with modern suspension and brake upgrades, packing a classic 383 backed by a highway-friendly five-speed manual gearbox.
