1954 MG TF Roadster - Freshly Restored

Described as a total restoration from the ground up, and reported to have been driven just 39 miles since the restoration was completed, this 1954 MG TF Roadster has been finished by its seller to an exceptional degree, with all work reportedly handled personally. It is one of approximately 6,200 TFs to come out of Abingdon during 1954. Described as a fully finished and fully functional example of this traditional British classic, this TF was reportedly garaged for 30 years before being restored. It captured a trophy at its first car show thereafter. The MG TF was powered by Abingdon's XPEG 1,250-cc OHV inline four-cylinder engine. With a compression ratio of 8.3:1 and dual SU semi-downdraft carburetors, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 63 horsepower when new. The engine in this TF is described as being original to the car, with 39 miles since a mechanical rebuild. The engine is described as excellent in starting. - the manual transmission works properly and notes the standard drip or two from the powertrain. The engine bay presents as stock and very clean. The paint on this TF was reportedly applied in 2022. - no swirls or other body blemishes. The car is reportedly never exposed to rain but the seller states that the body seals are new. The convertible top is described as brand new and fully functional. The side curtains look to be in as-new shape. As to corrosion, the seller states that the TF has been totally rebuilt from any metal rust. The chrome appears to be complete and in excellent condition. - no issues with the glass and reports that all lighting is functional, with new wiring. The underside presents as very clean in the photos provided. One small flaw, shown in photos, is a dark spot near the fuel filler, showing a brownish tint in the clear coat. -- that the interior of this TF has been fully restored using new carpeting and all new interior leather. The materials present as being in excellent condition. No interior trim is reported to be missing, and the seller states no issues with instrument functionality. There is no audio system, but the heater is reported to work properly. - - all chassis components were changed or refreshed during the TF's restoration. - that the shock absorbers have been rebuilt and that the suspension bushings are new. The manual drum brakes are described as brand new and excellent. The optional wire wheels are described as -new- condition but are the original wheels. Receipts for parts used in the restoration will be included. Done to a very high level, this 1954 MG TF Roadster is reported to be just a handful of miles removed from its restoration, enough time to capture its first show trophy.
