2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT Convertible With a Five-Speed

For those looking to stand out from the herd of other 2008 Ford Mustang GT coupes and convertibles, Ford continued to offer the Shelby GT'a mildly tuned version of the standard GT that delivered panache and exclusivity. Only 583 Vista Blue drop-tops, like the 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT Convertible offered, were produced with a manual transmission. This one, has a few additional cosmetic enhancements, but is otherwise stock. It is very clean and was only used on sunny days for the past four years, who adds the car is a joy to drive.  Based on the Mustang GT, the Shelby GT was powered by Ford's Modular 4.6-liter SOHC V8. Upgrades specific to the package included a cold-air induction system, performance exhaust system, and a unique ECU calibration, bumping output to 319 horsepower (versus 300 hp on the Mustang GT). Because the car isn't driven often, the seller maintains a trickle charger on the battery. The engine reportedly starts easily and runs well, but the seller notes: If the car is moved only a few feet and not at normal operating temperature, there can be a little smoke upon the next start.- the engine and five-speed manual gearbox are leak-free and that the transmission, with its short-throw shifter, shifts easily. There were a few additional special models of the 2008 Shelby GT that came in different colors, but Vista Blue with silver stripes was the standard color. The convertible top reportedly works normally, with no leaks. All the glass is said to be in great shape, too, with the seller reporting that the previous owner had the windshield replaced in 2019. All the exterior lights reportedly work normally. Non-original cosmetic upgrades include color-matched exterior mirror covers and yellow brake caliper covers - The Shelby GT's black leather-trimmed cabin is based on the production Mustang GT, with unique sill plates, a dash plaque showing the car's unique Shelby number, and a Hurst short-throw shifter. There's also a styling bar that should not be confused with an actual roll bar. An additional upgrade is blue door panel inserts. The interior presentation in this example is described as very good , with some wear noted in the driver's seat. The rest of the seats appear to show very well, and the seller reports the carpet is excellent. The door panels, center console, and dash pad also appear in very good condition.- everything from the gauges and power accessories to the air conditioning and the Shaker 500 audio system works on AM/FM/XM and accessory, however, the 6-CD changer is inoperable. - As part of the Shelby GT package, the suspension was upgraded with a Ford Racing Handling Package, which included new dampers all around, lowering springs, thicker stabilizer bars, and a strut tower brace. All are said to be in good condition, with no known issues or needs. This example also wear yellow brake caliper covers that required eighth-inch clearance spacers for the wheels. The wheels themselves are 18-inch polished aluminum pieces that were part of the Shelby GT package. They appear in good condition, with very minor scuffing on a couple of the wheels evident in the photos. The wheels are matched with 235/50R15 Starfire tires that are said to be in good condition and show 2016 DOT date codes.- the car drives smoothly on the highway, with no vibrations. Additional documentation for this 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT Convertible includes the certificate from the Shelby Registry, along with additional receipts and original manuals. Only 583 of these convertibles were produced with a manual transmission, making this a comparatively rare piece of couture from the House of Shelby.
