1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Convertible

Chevrolet didn t start the pony car era, since that term came about with the Ford Mustang, but Chevy quickly became a major competitor with the introduction of the 1967 Camaro. Like the Mustang, the Camaro was available as a coupe and a convertible, but no fastback. The Camaro was offered in several trim levels and this restored 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible has the double shot of desirability in that it is a Rally Sport/Super Sport (RS/SS) with the 350-cu.in. engine and four-speed transmission, which gives it four very desirable features. This restored Camaro also has power front disc brakes, power steering, a deluxe interior, center console with gauges, speed warning speedometer, and a folding rear seat. - The engine isn't original to the car.- a 350-cu.in. V8 was assembled when the car was restored. He was told by the restorers that the block was a 1967 350 item and the heads and manifolds were also from 1967.- the engine starts easily when cold, doesn't smoke, and he hasn't observed any leaks. The Muncie four-speed manual transmission shifts well through all the gears,- the rear end isn't original but it does have Positraction. The front fenders and rear quarter panels were replaced by the professionals that restored the car,- the driver's door was replaced sometime before he bought the car. Currently there is some rust in the trunk floorpan, but the other floorpans are original and in good condition. There is no surface rust, in his opinion. This Camaro was painted in 2007 and it's still in good condition. There are no reported blemishes, chips, or swirls. The convertible top is a power-assisted unit that works as intended. As for leaks, he hasn't had the car in the rain, so leaks are unknown. The seals were replaced during the restoration and are in good condition, with no missing pieces. All the lights work, including the hidden headlight doors. - The interior was replaced during the restoration with the original type and design upholstery and is in excellent condition. The front seat adjustments work correctly, and the rear seat is the optional fold-down seat. The carpet is new and in excellent condition. The convertible top was installed in 2008 and the seller also rates it as in excellent condition. The power windows raise and lower correctly and the original AM radio works well, in the seller's opinion. - there has been no suspension servicing since the car was restored but everything is in good condition. There are no leaks in the power steering and there are no issues with the brakes. The tires were new in 2008, and the wheels are good, although the seller has noticed some vibrations at 70-75 mph. I bought this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Convertible in 1980 and kept it in his garage, on blocks, until I moved to Arizona in 2001. The car was restored between 2004 and 2008 and has only been used for car shows and an occasional parade. The car is available because the seller is moving and has no place to store the Camaro.
