 Description
The idea of an LS swap has become almost cliché in some circles, but installing such a modern engine in place of on original Chevy V-8 seems about as natural as any other place to put one. With its electronic fuel injection, aluminum construction, and reputation for delivering big power in a lightweight package, a swapped LS can offer big returns for anyone modifying a classic truck. The seller of this 1969 Chevrolet C10 pickup claims that the LS engine under the hood puts out almost 450 hp, and was swapped fewer than 500 miles ago. The truck has power steering and front disc brakes, and a variety of modifications inside and out. -- that this truck was the subject of an LS V-8 swap about 500 miles ago. - the engine is an LS 5.3-liter V-8 from a 2012 Silverado and was bored out when it was rebuilt. - that the aluminum engine has ARP connecting rods and bolts, turbo cam springs and lifters, hardened pushrods, an Aeromotive electric fuel pump and regulator, a sheetmetal intake, billet fuel rails, and a Holley electronic fuel-injection setup. - the truck also has all new wiring. The Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic transmission was reportedly rebuilt at the same time, with a ProTorque 3,500-rpm stall speed torque converter installed. The truck is finished in white with a stylized stripe in orange, maroon, and gold. - the paint as being in good condition, pointing out that it has some paint chips in the surface. The chrome bumpers appear to be in excellent condition, and the grille and surround have no visible condition issues, per the provided photos. The emblems, mirrors, door handles, and other bright trim appear to have no significant pitting or condition problems.- that the glass is in good condition, and the seals allow no water inside. The rear window has been replaced by a slider. - The original bench seat was replaced with a pair of NRG Innovations racing buckets with five-point harnesses. The floor is covered with a black carpet, which appears to be in good condition. The inner doors are painted body color, with black vinyl door panels that show no wear, in the photos. The truck has a matching black vinyl headliner. The dash pad appears to be in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or other issues. The original instrument panel is in place, but has been augmented with a column-mounted tach, and oil pressure, temperature, and volt gauges from AutoMeter.- that all of the gauges are working. The original audio system was replaced by an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player with a USB input that is working. - I have provided a number of undercarriage photos that show no rust on the frame, underbody, or suspension. The truck has power steering, which the seller indicates has no leaks or unexpected play. The seller doesn't provide any suspension system service history, but notes that the bushings and shocks are in good condition. The brakes are power-assisted discs up front and drums in the rear, which are working fine. The truck is equipped with Cragar eight-hole alloy wheels with center caps, which appear to be in good condition. The tires, described as almost new, have staggered sizes: Cooper Cobra Radial G/Ts, sized 275/60R15 in the rear, and BFGoodrich Radial T/As, sized 245/60R15 in front. - this truck had its LS swap done properly, and if you step on it, she's a beast. GM pickups from 1967 to 1972 are always a favorite, and this 1969 Chevrolet C10 restomod would appear to be equally at home at either a cruise night or a drag strip.
