2002 Honda S2000 Convertible With 29K Miles

The seller purchased this 2002 Honda S2000 Convertible new, at a time when his local Honda dealer was still asking $5,000 over the sticker price. I held out until the end of the sales month, when they called and offered to sell the car at sticker, he recalls. The owner says he kept the car in factory-stock condition and garaged it when not in use. He states he has never had the car on a track, and the Carfax shows no reported accident damage. It also corroborates the mileage and indicates routine service performed. I'm selling because I rarely drive it anymore.  Introduced for the 2000 model year, the rear-wheel-drive Honda S2000 shared little with the brand's front-drive mainstream models. With its high-revving engine, six-speed manual transmission, and double-wishbone suspension, the Honda S2000 was a purist's delight. For 2002, the Honda S2000 gained a glass rear window in the convertible top, an improved stereo, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and different taillight detailing.The all-aluminum, naturally aspirated 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four was rated by the manufacturer at 240 horsepower at 8,300 rpm and 153 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 rpm when new. The owner says that the Honda's engine is original with no rebuild. - no issues with the cold start nor any smoke, leaks, or weeps. The six-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. (See video.) - the S2000's Sebring Silver Metallic paint is original and in excellent condition. He indicates one small ding over the right rear tire. The power convertible top works fine, as the seller demonstrates in a video. - one small tear but no leaks. The glass is said to be good overall, though he indicates a small rock chip in the windshield. There are no reported issues with the seals and no rust, and all lighting is said to function properly - - the car's carpet is in good condition, with no holes or worn areas, and all interior trim is intact. The seats are in great shape, as is the convertible top's headliner. The heat and A/C work, and the power windows, locks, and side mirrors function properly. The car's digital instrument panel and AM/FM CD stereo are affirmed to operate as designed. -- that the vehicle doesn't require a suspension service due to its low miles, and the bushings and shocks are good with no leaks. The original factory alloy wheels have no pitting, curb rash, or vibrations. It handles as precisely now as when new. The BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp2 tires (205/55ZR16 front and 225/50R16 rear) show 2014 manufacture dates, and the seller estimates about 1,800 miles of use per year since they were installed. The electric power-assist steering won media praise when new, and it operates properly and tracks straight with no play or vagueness. The antilock four-wheel disc brakes function as designed. Include service records, including documentation showing a major service performed at 26,154 miles that included oil and filter change, complete transmission service, rear differential fluid change, cooling system flush, brake fluid flush, air and pollen filters replaced, windshield wipers replaced, and a multi-point inspection. This one-owner, low-mile 2002 Honda S2000 has been kept in factory-stock condition as a pleasure driver. Enthusiasts lament that the S2000 was a one-and-done model, making an unmodified example even more desirable.
