1978 Ford F-100

- this 1978 Ford F-100 shortbed as a truck with long history in Georgia with -no rust. The truck is sold along with original books and paperwork. It features a V-8 engine, an automatic transmission, and is the Ranger trim level with upscale interior and exterior features. - the truck as stock except for the exhaust and wheels. - For trucks built between the years of 1977 and 1979, the H code in the VIN corresponds to the 351-cu.in. V-8 under the hood of this truck. With the exception of the open-element chrome air-cleaner housing and the later NAPA replacement battery, the engine bay appears to be stock.- that the exhaust was modified with headers and dual exhausts. - the engine runs well, has no issues starting, emits no smoke, and has no visible leaks. The transmission is a three-speed automatic that , shifts as new. - the truck was repainted in its current red at some point between 2012 and 2015. - the paint as Very nice, and not show but a factory-quality paint job. He points out a small door ding on the driver's door, a small bump on the driver's side of the bed, and a half-inch scratch on the tailgate as its most noticeable imperfections. - that the truck has no rust, nor any evidence of rust repair. Chrome details are limited to the front and rear bumpers, mirrors, tailgate handle surround, and wipers, all of which appear to be in good condition with no pitting or damage. The grille and surround appear to be in excellent condition with no dents, cracks, or other issues.- that the glass and door seals appear to be in excellent condition. He believes that the weatherstripping was replaced during the restoration. - that the exterior lighting is all functional. The headlamps appear to have been replaced with LEDs or some other form of projector lamps.- that the gray-cloth-upholstered seat works as new. - he's not sure, but the seat may have been replaced during the repaint. The 1978 Ford brochure indicates that Ranger trim level trucks either had chainmail vinyl seats, or a Skanda patterned cloth in 1978, so this appears to be a replacement, possibly from a later F-150. The seat shows no signs of damage or other condition issues. The door panels appear to be in excellent condition with no damage, and no cracks in the armrests. The carpet appears to be nearly new, protected by a set of matching floormats. The dash has no visible condition issues and appears to be unmodified.- that the temperature sensor was never installed, and the temp gauge isn't functional. The truck has its original steering wheel. The original radio has been replaced by a Pioneer AM/FM/CD Player. - I have provided more than a dozen photos of the underside, showing the frame, underbody, and suspension components. There appears to be no rust underneath, aside from some very light surface corrosion on the driveshaft and the frame.- that the power steering is straight with no wandering, and it has a very slight leak that may have been caused by overfilling.- that it appears the suspension was replaced with new parts when the truck was restored. He points out that the entire braking system from master cylinder to shoe springs has been replaced and that the power front disc/rear drum brakes are excellent. The truck rides on 15-inch Cragar S/S wheels, which appear to have no pitting or curb rash, and that the white-letter tires are nearly new.. I includes original paperwork including the bill of sale, owner's manual, and keys, which he has indicated in the photos. This 1978 Ford F-100 shortbed appears to be in excellent overall condition, with a remarkably clean interior. For the Ford fan interested in a pickup, it's a driver that has the potential to be taken back to the way it appeared originally.
