 Vehicle Description
56 Chevy Bel Air sedan that was only driven to church and on short trips- may be a dream want ad and in the case of this modified 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door sedan the church and short pleasure trips part is true but a detailed 383 stroker small-block - automatic overdrive transmission - and 9-inch Ford rear end make this car much more than a granny grocery getter. Other upgrades include four-wheel disc brakes - independent front suspension - coil over shocks - modern air conditioning and power bucket seats.A 383-cubic inch Chevrolet small-block stroker engine powers this 1956 Chevy Bel Air sedan - who states that the engine has approximately 10000 miles since its last rebuild. The provided photos show aluminum cylinder heads -a polished aluminum intake manifold with a Holley four-barrel carburetor - and Doug Thorley headers. The carb has an electric choke which aids cold starts.- no smoke or leaks from the engine and adds that the 700R4 automatic transmission shifts fine without any clunks or odd noises. The rear end is a Ford 9-inch Posi unit with 3.50:1 gears. The seller rates the two-tone paint as -OK but not show quality- as it has some scratches and road rash paint chips but no dents. The glass is without cracks and there are no water leaks. The trunk gasket is new. There is no rust reported . The bumpers grille and trim items all appear straight and shiny in the provided photos. Panel alignment also appears very good - Both bucket seats have power controls and their condition is great with no tears or stains. The carpet and headliner are both rated as being in great condition. The upgraded A/C is from Vintage Air and the heater works. The gauge cluster is a new Dakota Digital unit and the chrome tilt steering column is topped by a billet wheel. - some interference on the upgraded AM/FM radio but says it does work. - the wiper control knob is missing and dome light doesn't work but the under dash lights do work. - The front suspension uses an upgraded power rack and pinion system with QA1 adjustable coil over shocks. The rear suspension has a four-link system with coil over shocks. Stopping power is supplied by four wheel Wilwood discs with a Wilwood master cylinder.- the steering is straight with no play. The wheels are American Racing Torq Thrusts and BF Goodrich tires appear to have 2011 DOT codes although the tread is -like new.- - the wheels aren't pitted and exhibit no vibration issues.  This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door sedan hot rod has been owned for 18 years but is available because he doesn't use it very much. Receipts are available for most parts.  "
