1969 Dodge Dart With a 340 V8

Reportedly having spent most of its life on the drag strip, this 1969 Dodge Dart could nonetheless be returned to the street with minimal effort. It still has a largely stock interior, with a roll bar and some racing instruments, but the stock dash, carpet, and seats have been retained. Under the hood is a performance-built 340 V8 that's backed by a TorqueFlite automatic transmission. It's not the car's original powertrain, but the original engine and transmission come with the car. The 340-cu.in. OHV V8 replacement engine powering this Dart is to be in good running order, with no reported smoke or other issues. It is equipped with a Holley aluminum intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor, along with Hooker headers. There are no known leaks from the engine or the complementing three-speed automatic transmission, which reportedly shifts well. - the red paintwork on this Dart is in excellent condition, with some minor stone chips on the lower panels the only reported blemishes. The body is also said to be rust-free, while the exterior chrome and trim also appear in very good condition. The same is said about the glass and seals, which have no reported issues. The body is straight and clean. The functionality of the lights on this race car, however, is unconfirmed - Although it has been used as a race car for most of its life, the black vinyl cabin of this Dart remains intact and in good-appearing condition. It has the equipment expected of a dedicated drag car, including a switch panel, auxiliary instruments, a four-point roll bar, racing-style shifter, and more, but it retains the stock seats, door panels, carpeting, and other trim. There's some wear and at least a couple splits in the driver's side of the front bench seat, but the rest of the interior shows well. The heater, windshield wipers, radio, and a few other amenities have been deleted, but with the car's largely stock condition, they could likely be reinstalled. In fact, the seller still has the original radio.   - The chassis, suspension, and braking systems are reportedly in good condition, with no known issues or needs. Again, the car has been designed for drag racing and its equipment reflects that, from the open exhaust system and numerically high rear axle ratio to elements including a driveshaft safety loop and what appear to be drag shocks on the front suspension. The car has manual steering and manual drum brakes. It wears Mickey Thompson 30x12.50-15LT rear drag slicks and 28x7.50-15LT front skinnies for tires, along with Cragar aluminum racing wheels. All are said to be in good condition, but they're designed for the track, not street driving. The age of the tires is unknown and there are no DOT date codes visible on the tires.
