Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is a full-custom restomod that his brother commissioned American Bodyworks in Lewisville, Texas, to build for him in 2013-'14. Under its hood is a commemorative plaque from its creator that serializes the car as #0007. Performance, reliability, and ease of use were the primary considerations. Consequently, the First-Gen F-body features a modified LS3 crate engine; a 4L80E transmission; a 12-bolt rear axle; Pro Touring-style suspension, brakes, and rolling stock; aftermarket A/C; and custom paint, interior, and wiring. The seller acquired the car from his brother in 2022 and is now selling it. The fuel-injected LS3 6.2-liter OHV V8 crate engine, purchased new in 2014, received a camshaft, windage tray, and Mast Motorsports oil pan upgrades, and a GM Performance Parts Accessory Drive, among other bits.Custom headers and a 3-inch diameter exhaust system with MagaFlow mufflers was fabricated and ceramic coated.- that with the EFI, cold starts are easy, and no smoke or leaks, are present. The modern engine is backed by an electronically controlled 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission that was purchased new for the project and works in conjunction with a Circle D torque converter. A narrowed Detroit Speed (DSE) 12-bolt rear axle features 3.73:1 gears, 30-spline axles, and a TruTrac differential. This Camaro was soda-blasted. required repairs were done, most of the body panels were replaced, the drip rails were shaved, the body seams were filled, the firewall was smoothed, and DSE mini-tubs were installed. A cowl induction hood and front and rear spoiler were incorporated, as was a smooth front and rear glass kit. Two-stage PPG custom red paint was applied to the body. Silver-gray was used for the stripes, and the new door handles, taillight bezels, fuel filler cap, trim, and bumpers were powder-coated in that same hue. Dynamat was added throughout the inside, bullet-style mirrors outside, and the grille was replaced. The paint is perfect, the seller notes, as is the tinted glass, and the seals. All the exterior lighting is new and LED. Cockpit modifications include Dakota Digital gauges, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, a modern sound system, a B&M shifter, a console, and additional touches. The custom leather-and-suede-upholstered Procar Sportsman Pro Reclining bucket seats, the rear seat, door panels, carpet, and headliner are all described as perfect. The heater and aftermarket A/C systems work properly, and the window regulators and all the door-related mechanical parts were replaced. - - a full DSE suspension was installed with the company's tubular A-arms, coilovers, and anti-roll bar added to the stock front subframe; subframe connectors were welded in; and a QUADRAlink rear suspension incorporated. Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes have six-piston front calipers. Forgeline 18- and 19-inch aluminum wheels are shod with Nitto tires (235/40R18 front and 325/30ZR19 rear), and though they have about 500 miles on them, they date back to 2014. There are no issues with the power rack-and-pinion steering, and the car handles great and rides smoothly. Receipts that cover the build are included, and many are already posted here on the dashboard. This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod offers numbered-build exclusivity, high-line styling, and thrilling performance in a single, well-conceived, and expertly executed package.
