 Vehicle Description
This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 two-door station wagon (code 15 in the VIN) is one of the rarest Chevelles, as the model was produced in 1964 and 1965 only. These handsome wagons had slanted -B- pillars reminiscent of the 1955-'57 Nomad. The seller bought this Chevelle in 1987 when he was 16 and rebuilt/modified it during his high school and college years. The car served as a daily driver for many years, and he declares, -it's still very reliable and turns heads everywhere it goes.-  A 350-cu.in. OHV V8 of unspecified vintage was installed in 1990 and has had about 35,000 miles of use, who says cold starts depend on how long the car has sat. - the engine doesn't leak. The transmission is a Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 three-speed automatic that -shifts firmly,- . A three-row radiator from a '66 Chevelle was installed to ensure proper engine cooling, as the seller reports that the car has been used to tow parade floats. The car was painted IROC Blue at an unspecified time, and the condition is -still good,- although it shows its age and has some paint chips from daily driving. - the paint -shines up well and draws attention.- There is a slight dent in the driver's door and one small rust spot is starting on a front fender. The windshield has a rock chip and some of the seals leak when the car is taken through a high-pressure, touchless car wash,- all the lights work.  The Chevelle still has its original bench seats that received aftermarket black and gray seat covers in 1987. - the carpet was installed in 1989 and although it shows signs of age, it's still -in good shape.- All the trim pieces are in place but one of the headliner bows has flipped. The Pioneer stereo was installed in 1988 and -it still works fine,- in the seller's opinion. Custom door panels have been added to the car and the steering wheel is an aftermarket Grant GT product. - Polyurethane bushings and big-block coil springs were installed in 1989, who states that there is no play or leaks in the power steering. - the four-wheel drum brakes stop the car well.- the tires date from 2013 and are -slightly egg-shaped- from sitting. No size or DOT date codes were visible in the photos.- the wheels wearing 1965 Chevelle SS hubcaps. This rare 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Two-Door Station Wagon has been owned since 1987 and is available as he is purchasing a new home.
